Curriculum


Dimitris Hordakis was born in Larissa, Greece. After finishing his studies at the Classical Lyceum of Volos, he studied for one year at the Doxiadis School of Decorative and Graphic Arts, under the instruction of professor Dimitris Mitaras.
In 1977,  he moved to Florence where he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, directed by professor Silvio Loffredo. After graduating in 1980, he began to study restoration of works of art and attended for one year the International School of Fine Arts in Florence (Universita Internationale dell’Arte), directed by professor Carlo L. Raggianti. A year later, he was admitted to the School of Restoration of Arts (Opificio delle Pietre Dure - Florence), directed by Umperto Baldini from where he received his degree in June 1983, specializing in the art of sculpture and frescoes. In October 1983, he studied lithography at the International School of Graphic Arts  (Il Bisonte-Florence), directed by M. Luigia Guaita, receiving his degree in May 1984.
In 1991, he moved to Paris where he resided and worked for eight years.
Works by Dimitris Hordakis can be found in both private and public collections internationally (Greece, Italy, France, Switzerland, the U.S.A  and Spain)
Dimitris Hordakis is presently residing and working in Athens and Florence.
